Who we are
ScoreSpan is a board game scoring app provided by Cyberspace Design ("we", "us", "our"), a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information processed through the ScoreSpan app and website. You can reach us at hello@scorespan.app.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the service:
- Account information. Your email address when you sign up, plus a display name and any avatar you choose. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and a unique identifier from those services.
- Game data. The games you record, the players you create, scores, dates, and any notes you add.
- Friends and connections. If you link with other ScoreSpan users using friend codes, we record those connections so you can share game history.
- Subscription information. If you purchase a premium subscription, we receive your purchase status and a customer ID from RevenueCat. Apple processes the payment — we never see your payment details.
- Device and log information. Basic technical information such as device type, operating system, and event logs to keep the app running and diagnose issues.
How we use it
- To provide and maintain the ScoreSpan service
- To sync your data across your devices (premium feature)
- To enable friend connections and shared game history
- To manage your subscription
- To respond to support enquiries
- To detect and prevent abuse or technical issues
Our lawful basis
Under the UK GDPR, we process your information on the following bases:
- Contract. Most processing is necessary to provide the service you've signed up for.
- Legitimate interests. To keep the service secure and reliable.
- Consent. Where you've explicitly opted in to optional features.
- Legal obligation. Where we're required to retain certain records.
Who we share it with
We use the following services to operate ScoreSpan. Each only receives the data needed to do its job:
- Supabase — stores your account, game data, and friend connections.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status (purchase metadata only, no payment details).
- Apple — processes App Store payments and provides Sign in with Apple.
- Google — provides Sign in with Google if you choose this option.
- Cloudflare — hosts the ScoreSpan website and provides email routing.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and game data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain certain information by law.
International transfers
Some of our sub-processors may store or transfer data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect your data.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive your information in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office

Cookies
The ScoreSpan website uses essential cookies only — for example, to remember that you're signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we don't run third-party analytics.
Children
ScoreSpan is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email hello@scorespan.app and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know within the app or by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this policy reflects the current version.
